Unleash Your C is a web site developed and produced by the Partnership For A Tobacco-Free Maine.

The Partnership is the Maine Center For Disease Control and Prevention program responsible for tobacco prevention and control throughout Maine. Its mission is to reduce death and disability from tobacco use among Maine citizens by creating an environment supportive of a tobacco-free life.

The purpose of Unleash Your C (Unleash Your Choice) is to provide an engaging and informative environment designed exclusively for youth to learn the power of the choices they make in their lives. Choices have consequences, especially where tobacco is concerned.

It's crucial that youth know the deadly facts about smoking so that they don't make a choice that can damage their health and shorten their lives. About 1,700 children in Maine will become new smokers this year by choice. Many will not be able to quit, however, as the choice becomes an addiction with severe consequences. Tobacco-related diseases kill more Americans than car accidents, illegal drugs, and alcohol combined.
